A Revelation

We discovered the amazingness that is 21st century domestic bliss - the dishwashing machine.

I know, it's like I'm from the dark ages, right? Will and I have been handwashing our dishes and using the dishwasher as a drying rack for the last year. When we returned from LA this January, we ran the dishwasher. And since then we've gotten addicted to it and the days of handwashing dishes are over.

  1. I don't like using the dishwasher for many reasons: 1. I feel like I can do it better and actually faster by hand; 2. I don't like the water and stuff that collects on top of some dishes; 3. Don't like the fact that I often have to rewash about 10% of the stuff in there; 4. I find it eerily relaxing to do the dishes; 5. Save money on our utilities.

    Does that convince you otherwise?

  2. ok, i have to admit i agree/relate with your reasons 1-4. i'll have to see if the utility bill goes up. but those reasons are still overshadowed by how much easier the machine is.

  3. i've heard that less water is used with a dishwater than washing by hand.

  5. I want a dish washer so bad. But even more than that, I want a clothes washer and dryer. Taking loads of laundry down the street to the local laundromat is NOT my idea of a fun weekend.
